Integral Assessment and Loving-Kindness Meditation

This week's assignment took my understanding of meditation and self-growth to a new level of reality.  Although I struggled sitting still for ten minutes repeating the same 4 sentences in my head, I did feel a connection with my loved ones that came from an energy inside me. The words created pictures that were colorful and revitalizing. After 5 minutes, I felt very awakened to all my senses.
The integral assessment was more critical an element for me than any of the other activities I have done. It forced me to really ask questions of myself and gain insight into my goals for integral health and human flourishing. I realized how much I fight performing these exercises. I identified all of the excuses that I make not to connect with my need for holistic health. It was a very confronting and important step in the process I have identified as my path to human flourishing. The greatest aspect of the integral assessment, for me, was step one: Identifying the aspects of our lives that require attention. Once you have a focus and a goal for integral health, you are able to hone in on developing your mental fitness and integral health.
Overall, great week of exercises!
Specific exercises that I can use to foster greater integral health and development are daily meditation using guided imagery and deep breathing exercises; waiting on the Lord exercise; and practicing forgiveness at every turn- forgiving myself and others quickly and without reproach.

  1. Hi, I guess it is hard whenever it comes to ourselves as it takes effort, time and lots of deep soul searching. On the other hand I think that many who do not take the time to do it, end up being forced to do so due to cicumstances that called for it so I would rather do it willingly than being forced to face my own demons. Sounds like you have felt the same struggle, well, you are not alone. I think guided imagery is a great tool and it certainly helps with relaxation.

  2. Hi SarahBeth. I can relate to your comment about being able to "dentify the aspects of our lives that require attention". This can be a difficult task, especially if there are multiple aspects--like mind, body, and spirit--that need some serious concentration. Also, giving yourself the permission to take the necessary time and energy to nurture them--without guilt--is another hurdle. But, I always feel that self-nurturing is the key to being able to nurture others. Great post.

  3. Unfortunately there are a lot of AIDS/Herpes denials on Herbal cures still out there. I did research on them after I was tested HIV/Herpes positive I was so worried am I going to die soon. I continue my search again on herbal remedy for Std, then I found lots of testimony on how Dr Itua Herbal Medicine Cured HIV/Aids, Herpes Virus,Copd, Hepatitis, Diabetes, On websites sharing their testimonies, which made much more sense to me. All the authors pronounce Dr Itua As a man with Good Heart, I pick interest in their testimonies and I contact him about my situation then he gave me procedure how it works, I proceed after one week he courier his Herbal Medicine to me and instruct me on how to drink it for two weeks to cure. I receive His Herbal Medicine so I drank it for two weeks as I was told then after 2 days I go for a test I found out I was cured from HIV/Aids & Herpes Virus, I pay homage to him 2 months ago to his country to celebrate with him on his African festival which he told me it usually happens every year. I know there are lots of (HIV)/Aids&Herpes Virus denials of Herbal Remedy movement the same few doctors and they represent a very small faction of the community. I could have died because I refused Natural Herbs Cures for so long, but luckily, by the grace of God I am alive to tell my story.
